Read "Cooking the Books" by Christopher fowler and answer the following questions on a comment:
- What was Haldeman’s plan to get the insurance money? And his alibi?
- The story is unfinished. What do you think happened at the end?
1. He wanted to burn the restaurant down, and make it look like it was an accident, maybe a gas leak so it wouldn't look like he had something to o with it. He was staying in Palm Springs, a place two hours away from where he lived.

But something went wrong, Hyatt kept talking for an hour or so, Haldeman was surpised that the place wasn't burning yet. He asked Hyatt and he told him that José didn't come to work that day, thus his plan went wrong and he was screwed, again.
1.His plan was to get the money he needed from the government or a company when his restaurant burned. His alibi was that he was staying in a hotel in Palm Spring when the "incident" took place.
ResponderEliminar2.He got the call and he was very happy he had an alibi but what he didn't know was that José smelled the gas when he went to work that day so he called the police, the police checked the acount and saw that what the workers said and the files said was't the same version so they arrested Haldeman for fraud.
